About

This blog is about the love of food that we share with each other and with our friends. The love and comfort and adventure that food provides us also drives us.
From the small kitchen in our apartment to the kitchen we are (slowly) redoing in our house,  we have been able to have fun, eat well, and find joy in our food.  With our house, we are finally able to have gardens, an outdoor space with a two grills, and a neighborhood of new friends to share with (not to mention the aromas of their own cooking wafting out windows, over fences and down streets).
Our cooking ranges from easy but good, foods we grew up with, foods our parents grew up with, recipes we’ve read in print, seen on television or the internet (we are big fans of several blogs) and food that we have eaten elsewhere (restaurants, friends houses or while travelling).
I’m hoping to find pictures of meals that we’ve had while travelling, and post them.  We’ve always photographed our food, long before blogs existed.   Looking at a picture usually evokes or provokes a memory.  If that photo is of food – then it also brings up memories of the experience of eating – rarely alone, and often fun.  Our photos of food span years, and always bring back fantastic memories.  We will share these with you as we find and scan those photos.
Lastly – this blog is meant to be enjoyed.  We are sharing what we eat, drink and enjoy.  This might be our go-to “meesh-mosh” of rice, some meat, some veg all tossed together, or it might be a simple macaroni and cheese (béchamel is easy to make).  It might even be saugys with yellow mustard and celery salt.   Regardless, it is what we are eating, enjoying and sharing.
Cheers

The “we” and “us” in this is Jamie/James (it depends on how long I’ve known you) and Karin (pronounced “Car-Inn”).
